Privacy Policy

Last updated 15 October 2026. ScoreSpike, ABN 90 738 457 055.

This policy explains how ScoreSpike (ABN 90 738 457 055) collects, uses and protects personal information. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address and sign-in method. If you sign in with Google or X, we receive your name and email from them.
  • Club data your club enters: team names, player names, shirt numbers, roles, mobile numbers, email addresses and emergency contacts, plus fixtures, scores, votes and match notes.
  • Billing details: handled by Stripe. We see your plan, payment status and the last four digits of your card, never the full card number.
  • Technical details: IP address, browser type and the time of each request, recorded in server logs for security and to fix faults.

Why we collect it

  • To run the service: sign you in, sync scores between devices, build ladders and show your club's public page.
  • To bill your club and send receipts.
  • To send emails you need, such as password resets, email confirmation and important account notices. We do not send marketing email unless you ask for it.
  • To keep the service secure and find and fix faults.

What the public sees

Public club pages show team names, fixtures, results, ladders and finals. They do not show player names, phone numbers, email addresses, emergency contacts, votes or logins.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the services that run ScoreSpike:

  • Vercel (website hosting): United States and other regions
  • Neon (database): stored in Sydney, Australia
  • Stripe (payments)
  • Resend (sending emails)
  • Google and X (only if you choose to sign in with them)

Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia. We choose providers with strong security and privacy practices. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Children

Clubs may enter details of players under 18. The club is responsible for getting consent from a parent or guardian. Children's details are never shown on public pages.

How long we keep it

  • Club data is kept while the club has an account.
  • Backups are kept for up to 120 days so a club can recover from a mistake.
  • If you ask us to delete your club, we delete the live data straight away. Copies in backups expire within 120 days.
  • Billing records are kept as long as Australian tax law requires.

Security

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, never as plain text. Each club's data is kept separate and checked on our server for every request.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing admin@scorespike.com.au. Players should ask their club first, because the club controls its own data. We reply within 30 days.

Complaints

Email admin@scorespike.com.au and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date of the latest version is shown at the top of this page.
