- What is ScoreSpike?
- A volleyball competition app: teams, the draw, live set-by-set scoring, ladder, finals, best-player votes (3-2-1, best on court, or off) and optional player stats, plus a public page for your club. Built for volunteers on a phone, tablet or desktop, not for state-league paperwork.
- How much does it cost?
- A$19.99 a month or A$199 a year for the club. Unlimited teams, scorers and devices. New clubs get 30 days free, then the club app locks until you subscribe.
- What happens after 30 days?
- The club app locks and shows a subscribe screen. Nothing is deleted — subscribe and it all comes straight back.
- Who can see what?
- The public sees fixtures, the ladder and finals on your club page — no login, and no player names, phone numbers or emails. Scorers log in with the username and password the admin gives them. Admins run teams, the draw, users, votes and settings.
- How do teams sign up?
- Teams register on your club page with the captain’s contact details and consent. They land as pending — you approve them in Teams.
- What if the venue has no internet?
- Keep scoring. Once a scorer has opened the club app on a tablet with internet, it opens and scores with no connection at all. Every point is saved on the tablet as it's scored, an unfinished game survives a refresh or flat battery, and everything uploads by itself when the tablet is back online. If two devices changed things in the meantime, the changes are merged, not overwritten.
- What are the scoring rules?
- Best of five, sets to 25 win by 2, deciding set to 15 switching ends at 8, 6 a side, 2 timeouts a set and a 55-minute game clock (none in finals). Ladder: win 3, draw 2, loss 1, then percentage.
- Do we have to do best-player votes?
- No. In the club app go to Settings → Best player votes. Turn them off, pick 3-2-1 or a single best on court, or type your own points like 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Votes already recorded stay as they are.
- Can we track player stats?
- Yes, if you want to. Turn on Player stats in Settings and scorers can tap kills, aces, blocks and errors for each player during the game. It’s optional, and the stats show up in Votes & results with a printable PDF.
- Can more than one person score?
- Yes. Give each scorer their own login so the activity log shows who did what. Everything saves to the cloud.
- How do I share the club page?
- Club desk → Copy. It’s scorespike.com.au/watch/yourclub. On a phone, open it in Safari or Chrome and Add to Home Screen — it works like an app.
- Can I start a new season?
- Yes. Season → generate a new draw. The old season’s ladder, results, votes and finals are archived first.
- Is there an App Store app?
- Not yet. Use the website and add it to the Home Screen from Safari or Chrome.
- How do I cancel?
- Club desk → Billing → Stripe portal, or email admin@scorespike.com.au. Access runs to the end of the paid period.
- Refunds?
- Australian Consumer Law still applies. As a goodwill policy: cancel within 14 days of the first paid charge and we refund that charge if you have not run a paid season. See Legal.
